The Clanging You Hear...
Dec. 30th, 2010 09:29 pm... is the sound of two of my muses having a duel. I think the fact that they're using swords - an old-fashioned English broadsword for my Tudor muse and a katana for my Inception one (don't ask, I guess it's the cool factor) - is because I just saw Narnia 3 today. There was swordfighting. Hence the sword duel. But really, this is getting bloody ridiculous, and I don't even know if anyone follows my journal anyway, so I could just be writing to a vacuum, but that's how it goes, I guess. If you do follow me, please let me know, because I don't know how to check that. Why is there no stats page on this site?! *is bewildered*
Seriously now, though. I'm trying desperately to kickstart my Tudors muse - anyone who's found me via LJ won't know why because none of my Tudor fic is posted here (will be starting to rectify that tonight, finally), but over on fanfiction.net, I seem to have impatient people who want new chapters. The problem is mostly with the novella/novel-length fics (IDK yet which it will be, but probably novel) Standing Outside the Fire and Souls Run In Circles. I'm stuck in the extended prologue period of SotF, with 1500s!kid-fic, and it's getting aggravating when all I want to do is write adult Boleyn-Seymour siblings! *pouts* SRIC has been giving me hell for a while now, I'm hoping to finally push through, though. We need to do some serious time-jumping there; I've got roughly forty years to cover in this fic and I'm only in the first decade, so... yeah. The short story sequel to Handmaid (which is my most popular fic in any fandom to date) may finally have hit a breakthrough, we'll see. I am rereading my Tudors books, though - both fiction and biography - so we'll see how that helps.
And then there's Inception. Between continuing my Three Is More Than Just Company series - next up is a trio of fics in which we get to meet the triad's families, and then some major upheaval for Ariadne, Arthur, and Eames - and my more independent projects, I've got a lot to do. I've got the inception_poly fic exchange, but luckily that's not due till February, since the fic I have in mind for that is in need of much more thought before writing begins in earnest. Then there's this other A/A/E fic, Ghost of a Rose, which is also very much an Arthur backstory/character study. I'm exploring the idea of a helpful shade, unlike Psycho!Shade Mal, so that one's kind of dark. (No, Arthur is not a shade!) As if that weren't enough, I am determined to write Arthur/Eames fluff - or at least not angst, because dear God that is all I write with them!!
And my poor AMTBR muse is sitting in the corner waiting for me to look at her again. I blame my failing interest in the newer seasons of NCIS and Doctor Who - not to mention the heartbreaking sadness that was Torchwood's Children of Earth or the WTF? that was the third season of Primeval last year for this.
Welcome to Development Hell. (Why yes, I am a TV Troper.) Also, I need a Tudors tag. Bloody hell.
