It begins one night at the warehouse, when Cobb has been under for an hour - real time - trying to lock Mal away, losing himself in memories in the process.

The kick music begins, the song Mal chose, that she used to sing in the kitchen when she was trying to cook - Cobb did most of the cooking because except for a very few dishes, Mal couldn't, but she tried anyway.

Strange, how it's that which sends a pang of fresh grief through him, the memory of how she'd sing, right until something started to burn, and then she'd curse in French.

Standing up, he looks around and realizes he's not alone. Saito is in the shadows, watching him, and for a moment Cobb almost thinks he understands.

Wife and daughter killed in a car crash, can we use it?" Arthur had asked when it was Cobol employing them, and Saito was the target. Cobb had refused, unable to use a pain so like his own against anyone else. And now, meeting Saito's dark eyes, he's glad of it, because it makes it easier that the only person who understands how lost, how alone, he feels, is this man he hardly knows.

I would love to do the A/R/S one, but I can't think of any silly jokes, lol.
