What The Everloving Fuck, Seriously.

So, I've never talked about Anita Blake on my LJ before, but I just read Hit List and... And... I don't. What. LKH, did you just...?

Olaf. Is Going. To Be. A Werelion. Fucking hell, this is not good. Especially since, y'know, Haven's kinda six feet under and Anita does not have a dominant lion among her men?!?!

I don't see this ending well.

Other observations. Nicky is apparently still a scary bastard after all, which is almost comforting in one way; Bride-hood does not erase one's self-identity completely then. Ethan is yet another new guy that I just want to hug really, really tight; it occurs to me that the way the tigers behave just gets less and less appealing. No wonder Alex wanted out, I'd be running as fast as I could myself.

I am an Edward fan to ridiculous degrees, so finding out that his name really is Ted Forrester was nice, and seeing more of Bernardo's always fun.

Are my friend and I the only ones who think Marmee Noir may not be dead, after all? It just seemed... too easy. Why didn't Anita try that sooner?

I just want to know what's next; it has to be the potential U.S. Council. Who's likely to be on it (I feel we'll be seeing Auggie, Samuel, and Max again, and some new Masters/Mistresses of Cities), how are they going to set it up, so on and so forth. More vamp politics, which makes me happy because I really, really like vamp politics. And Edward. And the investigation-focused novels (largely because a lot of them also involve Edward).

In other news. The X-Men Big Bang is trucking along, but the ensemble cast seems to be growing. That wasn't in the design! Sigh. But at any rate, I'm having fun developing the 'verse, especially as this is not going to be one story and done. It's really fun to create AUs, I'm kind of hooked on it, honestly. Interestingly, I find that Charles has a temper and Erik is really, really snide when he's defensive/ticked off. Sigh, boys. They're also both in different flavors of denial, I kinda want to smack them.

But the good news is, there is Darwin! :D And I hope no one kills me for OCs.

My other fics are at a crawl if not a standstill, which is annoying. I should watch Inception and Tudors again, I need to kickstart something, Jesus Christ. *adds to to-do list*

Oh, and I need to look into internships. For, y'know, my real life career plans. I hate being an almost-adult some days.

I didn't actually read the above because I didn't want to be spoiled but I do want to know if you thought the book was good. The last LKH book I read was Skin Trade. Is it worth it to keep reading the series? I'm getting kind of tired of the constant sex obscuring the investigations and the plots keep getting thinner and thinner.

You might want to skip Flirt, the novella, but Bullet has no sex scenes. There's some ardeur issues, but it's of the no memory afterward variety, and in this case the reason for it is very much a part of the plot. Shit hits the fan.

Hit List has one sex scene, but it's more like an interlude and there's definitely a story this time. I like both Bullet and Hit List, I have to say.

AUGH, MY BARNES AND NOBLE NEEDS TO GET THE LAST FEW PAPERBACKS IN STOCK. STAT. I NEED MY AB FIX. This just reminds me so hard that I hate them sometimes.
