I wanted this one to be about them getting over what happened in the last bit, and something like that is traumatic; you don't just brush it off. It's like a prompt I made on the kink meme about PTSD (and I'll be exploring that idea a bit myself in an upcoming installment). I'm glad it came off as real, because that's what I was going for.
Guadalajara was a serious mistake on Arthur's part, even though we now know why he did it, and I explore the idea a little more in the backstory piece. It was clear to me that Eames had never quite gotten over it, and I felt it had to be addressed.
If I were any good at proper humor!fic, I'd have them go into a major fan's dreamscape and be forced to deal with the TARDIS or something like that, but since I am not, little references like this will have to do.
