More Randomness

yanethyrael has my A/A/E manip, but last I checked my A/R/S one was not claimed. ;_; (Which just told you which ones I did, but IDEC at this point.)
Also, I decided to make a new Twitter exclusively for fandom things so that my other one, which is under my name, can eventually be used for RL career things.
I had a great weekend with my friend who came to visit, especially once we dragged our other friend out of his dorm room - he lives in the building next to mine, but is as bad as I am with being a hermit. We had fun being silly and laughing our butts off, it's basically what we do when we're together and it makes me happy. It felt like we never left high school, in the best possible way, so :D :D :D!
Sometime tonight I have homework to do, but right now I'm trying not to think about that. I also have fic to work on, let's see what ends up being written next. The wedding fic is still being a bitch, though I think Torchwood fans will be pleased with a cameo I have planned in the A/E section. I've been going through TV Tropes' section on Wedding And Engagement Tropes, but no luck so far. There's also the![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
inception_poly exchange fic, a Robert/Saito prequel to a planned movie AU (the same universe as my A/R/S fic Chills), and I am getting so-far unclear but strongly there ideas involving genderbend fic. Seems to be shaping up with Ariadne/girl!Yusuf femslash and girl!Arthur/Eames het, I don't know what will happen but it should be interesting.
As for my Tudors work... I finally get to write the good stuff for SOTF, woot! As for my other pieces, well, I'm working on that.

Writer's Block: The more you know

Absolutely not. I'm a journalism major with great respect for freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and the public's right to know, but like all rights, these have to be exercised with caution. The sort of thing Assange did goes against basic journalistic ethics, not to mention all traditions of war reporting. There's a reason journalists embedded with the military don't talk about everything. It's dangerous. The last thing we need is for the opposing side to get ahold of this information and use it to hurt more of our soldiers. In most things, I support transparency, but not when it endangers lives like this.
The corporate stuff, though, yeah, sure, leak that. You're not getting anyone killed that way.

Having a Non-Virtual Life For Once ;)
Feb. 18th, 2011 02:19 pmMy friend Sam is coming to spend the weekend with me, which is great because I miss her and all my high school friends. ("Remain on the vine", and all.) What is less great about it is that I won't be around much from a couple hours from now till Sunday. I'll probably get on a few times so my flist and e-mail inbox don't get flooded (been there, done that, now I take steps to avoid it) but it won't be for long. So I probably won't be commenting at all on posts or stories - I will catch up on Sunday, promise! After I make my claims for Inception Reverse Bang, which is one more reason I'll have to jump on sometime tomorrow after 3 PM my time. *crosses fingers for some Robert/Saito*
In other news... As my rambles about my college courses imply, I'm an aspiring journalist, and yesterday I pretty much got it confirmed that I've got a job working behind the scenes for a news show on my campus radio station. The best part is, especially as the host is a friend from a class last semester, there's an option to eventually get involved in the writing and maybe even to co-host. :D :D This is important because I'll finally have something to put on my resume, which is a great thing. I think this LJ makes it clear that writing is my biggest passion, well, my career plans tie in nicely with that so I'm sure you can understand my excitement.
